Little Discoveries

A couple of weeks ago, I went to down town Savannah to see my new hospital.  I had to take a three hour glucose test which was no fun for me.  On the plus side, I went to the perinatal unit and had a ultrasound.  It was nice to see my little guy again.  Brett was with me and so after the hospital, we ate lunch and went on a little adventure in Savannah.
The beautiful oak trees with the Spanish Moss.
Isn't it charming?

Two Smart Cookies
We had a cookie from here at family day and really liked this place, so we found it.

So cute!

Here he is at 28 weeks!
Look at those lips!

The next day, Brett and I went to Bluffton, South Carolina which is about a half hour away from Savannah. We had to hit up The Cottage, which has become one of our favorite restaurants here in the South.  The Apple Pecan French Toast is their signature breakfast dish.  I have had a lot of French Toast and this has definitely been my favorite!

(I had a picture of the French Toast, but it won't load. Sad!)

We plan to bring anyone who visits us to this cute place, so be prepared!

Gulfstream Family Day

On Oct. 12th, Gulfstream, had their annual family day.  Family day is a big deal because it's the one time you can come to see and tour how these private G650's are made.  They also provide unlimited food, drinks, and games.  It's seriously the neatest things I have ever seen a company do for their employees and families.

Brett and I went when they opened at 10 and immediately went on the tour.  I couldn't take any pictures, but I was seriously impressed with what I saw.  I'm glad these people who create and build planes are smart because everything is so precise, technical, and just amazing.

We enjoyed some southern barbecue after the tour and then enjoyed walking around and seeing all the popcorn, pretzels, sugar cookies, cupcakes, and every other dessert you could think of.  This family day was such a nice welcome for us West Coast people! :)

The Big Move and Closing Day!

On Oct. 3rd, the big move across the country happened.  Brett came back to California and then the next day, we turned around and flew to Savannah, Georgia with the two cats.  I won't go into details, but flying with my two cats was quite an experience.  I'll admit that I broke into tears once because I couldn't get them to be quiet with the sedative I was given for them, but they eventually did quiet down and passed out.  I was fully prepared for this to happen, but you just don't know until you experience it. I felt so bad because they cried and were so scared!  When we arrived, we went straight to the hotel which ended up being another crazy experience with the cats going crazy.  They eventually passed out again, but then would wake up crying.  Poor little guys, the whole experience was traumatic for them.

The next morning, we quickly checked out, dropped the cats off at our new home, and then drove to downtown Savannah to close on the house.

Can you see the two sets of ears?
We came back and they were hiding up on the highest ledge.

I really love our new house. I think it's absolutely beautiful and wonderful.  It's so nice to upgrade and pay less compared to our condo we owned in Southern California.  I feel very blessed in my life!

We closed and 26 weeks pregnant

25 Weeks and Maternity Pants

25 weeks and Chip photo bombing my selfie

I am still really enjoying this pregnancy.

My only complaint is a little discomfort in my mid-back, but otherwise, I have really loved being pregnant.

The baby moves all the time which is cool.  I have felt him move since week 14, but lately, he has been going crazy in there.  I don't know what's going on, but he's having a great time.

I don't really have any cravings. In fact, I have to force myself to feel hungry. It's weird because I had a crazy appetite before I was prego.

My stomach has been getting bigger and I don't know how it can get any bigger but it does. This has also resulted in me finally buying maternity pants.  I went to Destination Maternity and they had a great deal on skinnies.

I missed my appointment for September since our new insurance may or may not have covered us and I didn't feel like paying out of pocket with all the expenses going on right now.  I wasn't too thrilled, but I can wait until I get to Savannah.  I am confident that the baby is doing great.

Last Day Teaching at Momentum

I had been dreading this day ever since I found out I was moving and when September 20th arrived, it was the gloomiest and slowest day of my life.  As I was driving to teach my last two classes at a place I refer to as my "second family and home," I began to get emotional.  I pulled myself together and when I arrived at the front door this is what I saw...
A poster dedicated to me!

I thought it was so sweet, but it killed me inside.

I taught my first class with ease and felt fine.  Well when the second class started and three kids who I absolutely adore were doing their plies, I immediately choked up and cried.  I cried even more when a bunch of kids that I have had over the last 4 years came in and ran to give me a big huge hug and tell me they were going to miss me and that they loved me.  At that point, I was bawling!

One of the many drawings I received from my sweet kids.
(Most pictures involved a baby which made me laugh)

Two Dozen roses and a Cake for me

I knew it wasn't going to be easy to leave, but I honestly feel so grateful to have worked at this wonderful place.  I left feeling so loved and supported by everyone.  That means a lot to me!  I know that I will be truly missed because I had made such an impact on a lot of these children. I had several parents tell me and also my boss, Cathy.  Momentum will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you again for everything Momentum Dance Center of Performing Arts!

And luckily, I had these two to make me feel better when I came home. <3

Back for a Short Visit

On Thursday night September 12th, I drove down to John Wayne Airport and picked up Brett!  It was so wonderful to see him after three weeks of him in Georgia and me in California.  It felt nice to talk to him in person instead of the phone.  I told him I was going to be selfish and keep him to myself for those short two days.

I thought Brett looked skinnier.
That's what happens when you live in a hotel with only a fridge.

Sparky was sooo happy to have Brett home.

Of course when Sunday came and I had to take Brett back to the airport, it was super depressing.  Luckily, this time I had a date of when he was coming back and when I was finally moving.

And for the record, I honestly don't know how people can do long distance relationships.  I seriously think they suck especially when you are married.  Props to those who have survived longer than three weeks.

Happy 2nd Birthday Sparky
