London Day 7 April 13, 2012 A Day in England

Learning from the previous day's mistake,  Brett and I made sure that we had enough time to get to the Victoria Coach Station to catch our bus for our trip A Day in England.  And yes, we made it with no running and irritation.  Our tour consisted of going to Stonehenge, Bath, the Cotswold's area, and Stratford On Avon. We had a lovely tour guide named John who was Irish, very informative, and quite funny.  The bus ride through the English countryside was beautiful and I even took a 30 minute nap.  The first stop was Stonehenge, which I have always wanted to see.  Text books always made Stonehenge appear cooler.  So when I saw it, it was really just a pile of rocks. I am glad I saw it though!

Yep, a pile of rocks (but you have to see it)

Brett was annoyed because no one could understand how to take our picture

Another failed picture

Nope

I finally came up with the idea to kneel down so we don't look like giants (P.S. I am wearing my Wellington Boots 'wellies' that I bought the day before.  Best purchase ever!)

We got back on the bus and made our way to Bath.  I was doing fine on the bus ride through the countryside, but when we started to go through this narrow paths with sharp turns, I honestly thought I was going to lose my cookies.  I was getting so sick that I had to close my eyes and kick in the Lamaze Breathing.  When the bus finally let us out in Bath, Brett had to hold onto me.  Luckily walking around and eating made me feel a little better.  I felt bad because I didn't want to ruin anything.  In Bath, we looked at the Roman Bath, ate in the plaza and watched a seagull get territorial with the pigeons over some crust, ate Gelato, and took some pictures.  I was dreading to get back on the bus, however, once back on the bus, I took a two hour nap and felt a lot better.

They call this place Little Switzerland (can you see why?)

You had to pay 12 Pounds to see the Roman Bath, so Brett and I found out if you went to the restaurant next door, you could see it.  Good enough for us!

How could I pass gelato up?!  Plus, it made me feel better

This is the plaza where the seagull/pigeon encounter happened (we were both laughing hysterically with tears)

Back on the bus and a two hour nap, we drove through the Cotswolds, a beautiful little area.  We also went by Highgrove Estate where Prince Charles and Camilla live.  I "booed" because Camilla is a home wrecker and everyone in England still hates her for messing things up with Princess Diana.  We arrived in Stratford On Avon which is the hometown of Shakespeare.  If you like Shakespeare then this is the place for you.  We were able to go see Shakespeare's birth house, have a little tour, have scones and orange juice, and see performers performing excerpts from famous Shakespeare plays.  Brett and I enjoyed everything, but after 10 minutes, I had had enough Shakespeare.  We decided instead to go to a Scottish store and get some scarves and gloves.  We were very happy with our purchases.
Brett called me a baboon (don't ask)

I walked into this picture accidentally.  We laugh about this picture. What's up with my face?
